THE KING’S SPEECH Rating: good Colin Firth stars in what structurally would normally be a sports movie, except it’s speech therapy he’s getting trained in. There is admirably no single moment of a big breakthrough, just a long, slow process of improvement to an imperfect yet adequate end. That’s life! Skillfully acted and beautifully lit with a lot of soft whites and grays. May have been in need of more musical underlining.
