Spending ₹1–1.5 lakh on PPF for a ₹15–20 lakh car doesn’t make much financial sense.
You’re putting nearly 10% of the car’s value into protecting paint that can be repainted for far less if it ever gets damaged.
Unless it’s a luxury or enthusiast car, PPF often solves a fear more than it solves a problem.

agreed… running a detailing studio @BowToCars and i give same advice to all my customers…. will try to change this fraud detailing industry in coming years…. even PPF is not safe in indian weather conditions & regular cleaning conditions.

₹20,000 ceramic coating on a car parked outside is waste of money. 🤡
In India, heat, dust, bird droppings, monsoon rain and mineral-rich water are a brutal combination. And if your car gets the daily cleaning with a dirty cloth, the coating isn’t exactly living its best life.
Ceramic coating isn’t magic. It still needs proper washing with pH neutral shampoo and ceramic boost spray maintenance.
If your car lives outdoors, a good ₹2,000–₹3,000 paint sealant or synthetic wax, reapplied every few months, can give you most of the visual benefit without burning ₹20,000.
Spend on protection that matches how you actually use your car.
