on antisemitism:
You don't get to just pretend all this fretting about "antisemitism" is happening separately from the agenda to stomp out all criticism of Israel and its abuses. You don't get to demand that I treat them as separate things. They're inseparable agendas. I wish they weren't, but they are.
If you come up to me babbling about how Jews are afraid and mistreated, then I'm going to automatically treat this as apologia for a genocidal apartheid state, because that's the primary agenda that this rhetoric is being used to promote today. It's not my fault that this is how I respond to allegations of antisemitism. It's the fault of the people who have weaponized such allegations to promote genocide, apartheid, war, and tyranny.
If you want me to take allegations of "antisemitism" seriously, then you must first bring to an end the campaign to use that term as a cudgel to shut down pro-Palestine protests and silence Israel's critics. That is what you'll need to do before I will give you the benefit of the doubt and listen to you like you're a good-faith actor. The information ecosystem is currently far too full of genocidal Zionists lying about their experiences, their feelings, their intentions, and what has happened to them for me to listen credulously to stories about discrimination against Jews in the year 2026.
It's so surreal how we are still expected in mainstream western society to listen to concern trolling about "antisemitism" without immediately thinking about things like Israel, Palestine, Lebanon, Iran, war, and genocide. We're expected to listen patiently to stories about how western Jews feel unsafe without ever looking at all those elephants in the room. It's insulting. It's degrading.
If the main reason antisemitism gets mentioned these days is because of opposition to Israel's mass atrocities, then obviously I'm going to assume that's the driving motivator behind your words when you mention it. Of course that's going to be my default assumption. Obviously. Duh.

Sounds like an issue you can resolve by either not having "red lines" or having "red lines"

BG: "Once you're in, what? Once you're in, then what?"
MP: "Once you're in, you're now in the midst of this monster bureaucracy, and monster reality of management & executive decisions that's already there."
BG: "And so what? If you become mayor then you can't be pro-Palestine?"

With all due respect to everyone sharing this sentiment, as well-intentioned as you may be, but referring to the area as south Lebanon isn't a concession to external narratives but a testament to our distinct history and lived reality.
Furthermore, calling the region Al Janoub (south Lebanon) is rooted in an indigenous history that is centuries older than modern Lebanon itself: Jabal Amel. Long before 1920 and the creation of the modern Lebanese state, the people of the South were identified as Amelis, with their own distinct cultural, agricultural and scholarly heritage spanning from the Awali River to the Galilee.
I have a small request to make from the whole world, regarding language:
Let's stop using the term 'South Lebanon' or 'Southern Lebanon' when talking about Israel's actions and demands. There is no such thing. There is only Lebanon.
Talking about South Lebanon is a huge Zionist win in political language: it creates the notion Israel is not attacking and occupying Lebanon, only 'South Lebanon', a cute little place that is not even a real part of actual Lebanon. Just a cute little bite.
They are now doing 'Southern Syria' instead of Syria, for precisely the same purpose: to make it sound like this is not invasion and occupation, only a minor bureaucratic move.
There is no south Lebanon and there is no West Bank or Gaza either. There is Palestine, which Israel is occupying in full.
We need to de-Zionize language. Let's start with Lebanon. All of it deserves to be free, and none of it is free till all of it is free. Same as Palestine, and Syria.
It pisses me off that we keep crawling back into the same fucking cycle. After 10/7, I watched people rediscover their power. Encampments. Community organizing. Jail support. Food pantries. Mobilizations against ICE. Subway turnstile jumps. Communities protecting each other. People disrupting weapons manufacturers in a SINGLE DAY. We stopped begging for change and started forcing it.
And somehow, we're right back to knocking on doors, campaigning for the lesser evil, and convincing ourselves that the next politician will stop the bombs and dismantle the very systems both parties spent generations building. How many times do we need to learn this lesson?
Maybe one day we’ll stop trading disruption for campaign slogans and collective action for political promises. Maybe we’ll remember that we forced change because we made ourselves impossible to ignore.
Our power was never in electing someone to save us. It was in organizing, disrupting, and protecting each other. Movements are supposed to hold politicians accountable, challenge the systems that sustain oppression, and build enough collective power to dismantle them.
Not become fucking campaign machines for the very people they're supposed to hold accountable.

Crony capitalism is just capitalism. That is how the system works. People like to talk about laissez faire capitalism, but it does not exist. Everything is for sale under capitalism, including congress.

I'm hearing 'progressive' Democrats try and defend capitalism more than Republicans at this point
James Talarico:
Capitalism was an innovation. I think we forget that now.
The idea that you should be rewarded, that you should be compensated for your time, for your work, that was a revolutionary idea.
And that's not what we have today. We have crony capitalism.
The gains in this economy go to those who can afford to buy access, who can afford to buy politicians for control.
Dr. King said something similar: "We have socialism for the rich and we have rugged individualism for the poor."

She wasn’t assaulted because she’s Jewish, she was assaulted because she turned to a bystander and said ‘doesn’t she dress like she’d be raped in Iran’.
Whether you believe in fighting words or not, this was objectively not the hate crime you’re making it out to be.
A Jewish woman, @basedinmalibu, was violently assaulted earlier today by Temulun Togochog, a Mongolian immigrant.
Togochog was promptly taken into custody by @umichdpss.
Togochog is a May 2026 graduate of Mercer County Community College in New Jersey and is now attending @UMich for global ethnic studies.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Temulun Togochog is a US-born American citizen of Mongolian descent, not a Mongolian immigrant. She was born in the United States to parents living in exile from Southern Mongolia.

Democrats actually love this. They absolutely hate wielding power so having an excuse for their inaction is a huge relief to them.

Read the comments. Some people are actually offering suggestions about "where" the bomb should be detonated.
Let that sink in. This is the staggering level of self-absorbed, entitled ignorance we're dealing with: people so hopelessly detached from reality that they imagine the fallout of another war, let alone a nuclear confrontation, will somehow stop neatly before reaching their favourite McDonald's branch or Starbucks coffee shop.
These are people who have reduced geopolitics to a spectator sport, human suffering to an online talking point and nuclear annihilation to a hypothetical inconvenience. So insulated by privilege, so intellectually bankrupt, and so utterly oblivious to the consequences of the very wars they cheer on.
They are being whipped into a frenzy by global Zionists, led like rabid dogs into cheering for destruction they are too intellectually incurious to understand and too privileged to imagine might one day reach their own doorstep.
Iran MUST change its nuclear Fatwa...today!
Going Nuclear for detterence is the best option for now.

You're social democrats, it's ok to call yourself a social democrat, to admit you're on the side of the capital, liberalism, and maintenance of the current system. Stop pretending to be something you're not. You're not a socialist, you just want a welfare state and gay rights.
