Something a little different this time.
A few of my friends and I each wrote a short story for an Amazon Original Stories collection called PURSUIT. Same theme for all of us: hunt or be hunted. @MarkGreaneyBook with Joshua Hood, @GervaisBooks, @bentleydonb, @mccloskeybooks, @Allison_Brennan, and me. Good company.
My story is BUSHIDO. It's not a Pike Logan this time, but my Taskforce research informed the story.  While conducting book research in Japan and South Korea for Omega Authority, I had, as usual, a lot left on the cutting room floor.  I used it for BUSHIDO.  This short story features Luke Thorne, a contract killer sent to take out a Yakuza boss at Matsumoto Castle. He soon learns he hit the wrong man, even though he hit the target he was given. Now two crime families are hunting him through a country he doesn't know, and he has to determine what went wrong before they catch him.
Each story reads in one sitting. All six come out October 27thâŠI'm looking forward to reading what the rest of my fellow authors came up with.

Iâm so excited to announce my new project, TOWER FALL, a short story of 15,000 words I wrote with my good friend Joshua Hood (Author of Robert Ludlumâs Treadstone series, plus THE GUARDIAN, BURNOUT, and CLEAR BY FIRE).
Amazon is releasing TOWER FALL as part of their Pursuit Collection, a gripping assortment of short stories that explore what it means to be predator and prey. My friends Brad Taylor, Don Bentley, Simon Gervais, David McCloskey, and Allison Brennan have also contributed high-octane works to the collection.
The Pursuit Collection will be available in e-book and audiobook formats on October 27th!
TOWER FALL is all action and heart. Itâs about the lengths an estranged couple, both ex-spies, will go to in order to save the life of their daughter. I donât want to give away any more than that - I hope you will give it a read or a listen and tell us what you think about our story, and I also hope youâll check out the other writerâs contributions to the collection!

Mine is BUSHIDO. A contract killer, the wrong target, and two Yakuza families hunting him across Japan.

What a night. Thank you, Charleston.
A full house at Hibernian Hall came together for Our fourth annual Join Forces Charleston Style, and together we raised more than $200,000 for @SOFWarriorFnd.
That money goes to educate the children of our fallen special operations personnel and all Medal of Honor recipients.
Our heartfelt thanks to @davidbaldacci for an unforgettable conversation, to our amazing sponsors, to everyone who bid, gave, and raised a paddle, and to the volunteers who made it all happen.
A special thank you to the @the_DCOE who knocked it out of the park.
Honoring heroes. Empowering futures.

If China had done this on purpose, youâd have the plot of AMERICAN TRAITOR coming to life in the real world.
I wrote that book in 2020 and feel like Nostradamus now warning about the potential pitfalls of AI.
