Tom Hiddleston says happiness is overrated and spending your life chasing it can actually make you unhappy
"Happiness is overrated. Meaning is underrated. Happiness is like a sunrise or a sunset. Bear with me"
"You're there. It's lovely. You're present with it. The sun's rising or the sun is setting. It's perfect. After 15 minutes, the moment is over and it's gone. Trying to sustain it is impossible because it's over"
"And a life spent chasing the permanence of that feeling will make you unhappy because you can't hold on to it. The moment you try to hold on to it, it slips through your fingers and is lost"
"Meaning is a structure that only you create in your own life, an architecture with your own particular spiritual fingerprint, whereby if you're going through a hard time, if you're going through challenge, struggle, obstacles, suffering or pain, only you know why you're going through it"
"You might know, this is hard now. I'm doing it for my kids. I'm doing it for my mom. I'm doing it for my future"
"And then it makes enduring the hard times bearable because you know what it means"
"And meaning - this is the take - meaning yields joy. Joy is deeper than happiness"

When Monster Mash comes on this Halloween, just remember:
The guy who sang it looked like this the entire time 👀

Patrick Stewart in the final scene on Star Trek: The Next Generation.
It’s extremely simple, but reveals so much of his character if you watched. Somehow his sense of duty and sensitivity, along with the admiration of his crew shines through.
RIP Captain.

Whoever is leaving mean comments on your content most likely has no idea who you are.
The biggest thing that you need to realize is they don’t know you. People criticize me all the time but they have no idea who I am or what I do. They read one quote or look at one clip, out of context, and they think they know me. I’m not too big on constructive criticism when it comes from people who have no idea what they’re talking about. Judge the judger who’s judging you. So, when I talk about judging, I take the full context of the feedback or advice that I'm being given. I think one of the things that many people struggle with is they're not good at understanding the intent or agenda of the person giving them feedback. So, the first thing I think about is not their experience. Just because you've built a $150 million business doesn't mean that when you're giving me advice, it isn't coming from the framework of you trying to lower the price of the valuation so you can invest in it. You have to know the person's intent.
