After 5 years in Pennsylvania, Summer and I are coming home next month. I’m excited to announce that I will be the next Director of Communications and Media Relations for the @NCHSAA We are thrilled for a new chapter in our lives and to be able to raise our daughter in NC.

Listen Captcha -- those mopeds are not motorcycles. This is America.

I am still looking for a little help with NCHSAA Championship stat inputting -- looking at Volleyball on Halloween and Flag Football on Nov. 14. If you have some NLS experience, please let me know.

Reminder that all Playoff Broadcasts (video or audio) not on the NFHS Network must be approved by the NCHSAA and require a fee.

God bless the PA announcer, spotters and broadcast crews. Those numbers are gonna be hard to read from the press box.

Some comments from Brad Alford, in his first week on the job. A four-minute version is available at the link.

I'm going to sound like an elementary school teacher but some of y'all out here faking media passes and being places you're not supposed to be are going to ruin it for everyone.

Brand new touchscreen in the NCHSAA lobby. Integrating this content into the website soon. And hopefully, the record book too.

What Colleges/Universities in North Carolina have Flag Football and which of those SIDs will help me at the NCHSAA State Championship this year? Nov. 14, site TBA.

I've seen this a couple of places, so just to clarify, the NCHSAA Guidelines (in the Handbook) on heat and suspension of practices are based on Wet Bulb Globe Temperature. NOT Fahrenheit.

Little did I know this would change my life. I would also learn that Tar Heel is two words.

OK -- Send me your top plays from August! Working on the OrthoCarolina Top 5 for NCHSAA competition in August of 2026. @ me

This has always been available, but due to the rising number of fakes, screenshots, AI remakes, etc, here is the way to validate NCHSAA media credentials in the DragonFly Coaches App. All media should be prepared to show their card this way. youtu.be/jDk6RU3E_3Q

I read the Pajama Paparazzi article yesterday, and I know this is an issue in some of our counties across North Carolina. I understand there is a growing divide between capital "J" Journalists and "Content Creators" hired by parents or student-athletes. In today's media environment, there is 100% a place for content creators, but we're reaching a tipping point. I've got my own ideas for solutions, but let me hear yours.

It is NCHSAA policy at championships that we don't allow media into the locker rooms. I strongly, strongly suggest that NCHSAA member schools also keep media out of locker rooms.

Two quick notes -- a) Putting microphones on players is a violation of NFHS Rules. Do not mic up players for your content. b) Drones are still not allowed per NCHSAA rules.

I'm telling y'all, it's wild out here.

Checking out @We_Are_WA for the first night of the season.
