I was proud to join the City of Lancaster tonight to highlight three projects funded by the state in this year’s budget. I’m proud to represent Lancaster and work alongside my entire Lancaster Delegation to bring these investments home to our community.
$650,000 for Lancaster Police Department to help catch up on fleet replacements. Investing in our officers and making sure they have the equipment they need is key to supporting the men and women in blue.
$1.1 million for the Lindsay Pettus Greenway to continue expanding this great asset for our community. This free outdoor trail system is a jewel for Lancaster, and I’m excited to see it continue to grow.
$991,000 for the Ellen Dean redevelopment to bring new housing and retail space to downtown Lancaster and help revitalize our city.
I’m proud to see these state dollars invested right here at home and look forward to seeing these projects move forward for the people of Lancaster!

So I feel I need to set the record straight:
Hurricane Kiffin will no doubt leave destruction in its wake for the Louisiana university system at some point, but - NO - the Guard has not been deployed for this weekend. It is a very important college football game - but still a college football game nonetheless.
Mississippi has already made it clear to anyone attending that the police presence (state & local) in Oxford and on the Ole Miss campus will be the largest in our history. If you think you may want to create trouble - prepare for the consequences!
