One of my favorite players to watch from game to game production in NPB. Feels like every time I watch him he does something small or big to help SoftBank win games.
Yakyu Cosmopolitan@yakyucosmo2h
Taisei Makihara may have lost a step since his younger days, but watching him on the big stage like this is a reminder that he's still one of the most reliable defenders in NPB. 5 DRS at 2B in his age-33 season this year, and you know he can still play 3B or CF when asked.

Replying to @KevinOConnor
I had a feeling this take was coming at some point. Reminds me of when Dean Smith was accused of holding back, arguably, the greatest basketball player in history. Respectfully, Kevin, he looks like the same player we watched until, sadly, his season ended in injury and, ultimately, Hubert’s stint as coach.

Pete Crow-Armstrong is named MLB Defensive Player of the Year for Fielding Bible Awards. Boston's Ceddanne Rafaela won their CF award after he & PCA tied in points & both had same break down of 1st-3rd place votes. Defensive Runs Saved was last tiebreaker, giving it to Ceddanne.

Konnor Griffin may be a Gold Glove finalist as soon as next season. He has all the tools. Makes plays easier for himself with good movements, similarities to Taylor Walls in ways with a very good arm.

Been Gwak was named the Choi Dong-won Award winner as the KBO’s top pitcher. He had a 2.24 ERA with 197 strikeouts and had the highest strikeout per 9 rate by a Korean-born starting pitcher in KBO history. He’ll be posted for MLB clubs after the 2027 season
