Went to a AI hackathon put on by @MontanaHighTech and my biggest regret isn’t that my team didn’t win, but that I’m now using LinkedIn again to connect with other attendees who liked @Big_Sky_AI

great so now we're going to split into AI vs. SI camps based solely on how much TDS is involved

This is why I wash my clothes and till my soil by hand, for the machines use far more energy and resources, and that is wasteful.

Spent my whole career in bigtech and small startups and let me tell you I’m having way more fun nowadays contributing to FOSS projects / tools and services I’m using myself. Retirement is amazing in 2026.

*very* cool add-on for @herdrdev that lets you easily keep track of all your agents usage and context window sizes. thanks @leviqiao!!!
Shared agent Spaces bury the pane that’s almost out of quota under the chatty ones. herdr-agent-quota sorts each Space by least remaining first so you see the burn before the window resets. github.com/levi-qiao/herdr-a…

reminder that claude quota reduction is already in effect since Sept. 14 i reran my evals and my empirically measured value for a claude $200 plan has reduced from $7200/mo to about $6000, sitting below the value of ChatGPT Pro 20x if you only use fable (i know some people indeed do this), then that's another 50% cut on the value you get, putting you at $3000/mo still WAY cheaper than paying at API pricing, but gradually they are crawling back the subsidization i think we're entering an era where stacking multiple subscriptions will be somewhat mainstream
ok everyone, i took one for the team here's the data we all wanted to see - real token value of each LLM subscription, empirically measured through usage on my real subscriptions - supergrok heavy has now become the highest value at $12k worth of tokens (40x ROI) - the $200 plan from openai and anthropic roughly give the same amount of token value, $7k give or take - cursor ultra's ROI is the lowest among mainstream subscriptions, roughly half of OAI or Ant. for individual consumers i'm afraid this no longer makes sense to purchase this was done in a clean environment. i ran each provider across 5 whole % points of my quota through repeated eval tasks in open source repos, and measured the total token value from all the agent sessions based on API pricing caveat 1 - this only measures their coding agent quota (which is the majority of the offered value), and does not include things like chat bot or grok bot caveat 2 - none of the providers commit to never changing this, so this is a snapshot of what the offering looks like today. i cannot guarantee it won't change again caveat 3 - the token value assumes you exhaust your subscription completely, which may not be realistic in real world usage

if (like me) you’re looking for ways to experiment with the new Jev model from @typesafeai - @kunchenguid is (as usual) ahead of the curve with a great practical use case:
alright - just got Jev deployed for a real production use case, which now performs at fable level quality but 10x faster and saves a ton of money context - a powerful capability of firstmate is that as an orchestrator it intelligently routes each task to an appropriate agent (permutation of harness, model, and reasoning effort) based on custom user preference by default, that's done by the firstmate agent and the LLM would have to do some thinking, make tool calls to read dispatch rules, quota data etc and then do the dispatch. this is slow and does cost a bit of LLM tokens i just replaced this dispatch process with Jev. it makes the same decision with no thinking or tool calls, done in ~200ms, and for the 25 tasks i evaluated this with, it gives the exact same answer fable would have given... there's still a tool call needed to invoke Jev, done by the firstmate agent which uses an LLM. but even with that counted, the saving from Jev still resulted in a -71% reduction in cost and -90% reduction in wall time of completing the whole dispatching process Jev API calls themselves are almost free.. i made 100+ calls, and my usage dashboard still shows $0.01 (which i think means "haven't reached $0.01 yet"). if we just look at the part Jev replaced and not the whole system, then the saving is on the magnitude of ~100x if you also have Jev and you use firstmate, set TYPESAFE_API_KEY in your .env file in your firstmate repo to activate this exciting times! i think this is starting to enable a whole new architectural paradigm for software. LLMs are just a small part of it. more on that soon

The anti-AI sentiment we're seeing now isn't too different from the anti-electricity propaganda of the early 1900s.

Trying out Buzz, cool having a new use for my existing NOSTR keypair. What do I need to know about Buzz, what communities - other than my own that I just created - should I check out? Sounds like they don't yet had federation between multiple communities? Join mine (Big Sky AI) if you want to help me test this! bigskyai.communities.buzz.xy…
