I built a system @Somantix_ai that tracks AI providers’ important policy docs, and summarizes their changes. Basically the stuff you should read but don’t. Quick 5 minute skim via weekly newsletter.

45 terms-of-service & privacy changes emanated from 22 AI companies this week. We track them daily so you don’t have to.
See what Meta, Flux, Synthesia & others changed with little fanfare - and why most of it moves cost & liability to you. 👇👇

Working, as VFX supervisor, with this amazing creative team is a career highlight. Amazing sense of true partnership in constructing the world - we were firing on all cylinders.
If I may- in my estimation- #WidowsBay may very well be the best streaming series in a long time… and hands down one of the most mesmerizing acts of narrative prestidigitation in Horror.

A brand new full VFX breakdown from @ZeroVFX for 'Challengers' is now out. I've added it to the @beforesmag coverage. Such great examples of using machine learning for face replacements in the tennis play. Plus great invisible environment vfx beforesandafters.com/2024/07…

This whole article is incredibly interesting:
There are crystal structures that simply won't form anymore, even though they did a few decades ago. Real life Ice-9? Could make an incredible sci-fi book.

🌬️ At some points chaos connects.
In fluid dynamics Spectral Submanifolds (SSM) are continuations of a spectral subspace of linearized kinetic events near a stationary state such as fixed points, periodic orbits or a quasiperiodic torus. Various model exists of SSM.
In this experiment are used two flags of different bending rigidity in different ranges of flow velocities and transient dynamics. The study ought to be the 1st experimentally constructed inertial manifold for a chaotic attractor that shows how SSM-reduced models can identify not only stable fixed points, but also the unstable ones, limit cycles, heteroclinic orbits and even chaotic attractors. The results highlight the infinite-dimensionality of nonlinear and mixed reduced-order models reaching stable stationary equilibrium states. cambridge.org/core/journals/…

•Highly detailed LiDar and photogrammetry scans of the tennis court environment were captured to help create the final models. 100+ actors and background extras were also photoscanned to populate the stands of our CG environment.
