Proposed #Suns and #Pelicans trade could be exactly what both teams need

Notable today for NBA transactions:
The Charlotte Hornets did not exercise the 2027-28 rookie scale team option for Tidjane Salaun.
The Oklahoma City thunder did not exercise the 2027-28 rookie scale team option for Nikola Topic.
Both CHA & OKC picked up other team options.

The Suns are shooting 34.8% from three, 17th in the NBA. Since going 6-of-31 against Portland? They're shooting 38.8%, which would rank fifth. And the bench? Shooting 45.9% since that opener, best in the NBA.
That Portland game is going to haunt these averages for weeks...

Oso Ighodaro looks fantastic to start this game.
The screens, the passing, the way he orchestrates the offense and creates opportunities for his teammates. It’s been magnificent.
He’s reminding everyone how much the little things matter.

Want a fun stat amid all this Suns PG convo?
Collin Gillespie leads the NBA with a +28.3 team AST% differential when he’s on the court vs. off
That doesn’t mean he’s responsible for every assist. It means PHX moves the ball more effectively when he’s out there.
Interesting…

Quietly one of the most horrific trades you'll see...
2033 UNPROTECTED for Miles Bridges and a fake first
Not to mention Grayson Allen currently averaging 17 PPG on 74.6 TS%. Just a really tough pill to swallow for a team that was already light on future assets. Sloppy FO work.

Phoenix is currently allowing opponents to grab 43.3% (!) of their own misses. Impossible to produce good defense when you have to defend 1.5x more possessions than you should have to.

Who’s to blame for the Suns’ struggles? How about everybody?
Three games in, Phoenix has a connectivity problem. Defensive breakdowns, poor rebounding, and stagnant offense are feeding off each other.
The Suns don’t need a scapegoat. They need solutions.

MALU-WATCH: WEEK 1
Progress is the goal for Khaman Maluach.
In Week 1, he averaged 15.4 restocks per 36 minutes and led the league in screen assists.
It might not be pretty yet, but the production is there. And the progress is happening.
