Sir Craig did so much for British Sport, not only through the Olympic Movement and his role in winning and hosting the Olympics in Britain in 2012. So many sports benefited from his support; a true gentleman who will be very much missed.
The British Olympic Association are saddened to hear about the passing of Sir Craig Reedie.
Reedie served as the chairman of the BOA between 1992 and 2005, receiving a knighthood for services to sport in 2006.

HRH the Duchess of Kent was Colonel Commandant of the Women’s Royal Army Corps. I was fortunate enough to welcome her in Hong Kong when in the Army @WRACAssociation - so supportive, hard working and a wonderful inspiration to us all.
Protecting playing fields from development is vital to the health and wellbeing of local communities. @Sport_England play a vital role as a Statutory Consultee, protecting vital physical spaces so important to encouraging healthy activities, please don’t change this.

So very sad, what a huge contribution Joe made to Racing. He will be missed by all who knew him. Thoughts very much with his family.
It is with profound sadness that we today confirm the death of our former chair and friend, Joe Saumarez Smith.

I have known Dan for many years, a wonderful, caring, kind & professional office colleague for @mikewoodmp, such a supporter of @beerandpub @PubsAPPG. So difficult to believe that brain tumour & cancer have returned - so well worth supporting gofundme.com/f/dans-final-ch…

An excellent interview with Sarah Woolger on BBC Radio Sussex this morning. Work starts today on Piddinghoe Village Hall, but we still need more funding to complete our MasterPlan
Work to bring Piddinghoe's wartime-era village hall back to life has begun after a community raised £174,000.

Thank you to everyone who has helped us raise £174,000. Work starts on Piddinghoe Village Hall next week. More fundraising needed, but for a small village of 250 people, the hall built pre 1918, now cold, damp and crumbling will be transformed! piddinghoe-pc.org.uk/village….
Well done @JohnHealey_MP British Beer is world renowned and pubs at the heart of all our communities. How many ideas and relationships were born in a pub and so many good conversations too. @beerandpub
Some secretaries of state prefer to meet their counterparts in lavish Whitehall offices but John Healey prefers to carry out diplomacy in a British pub ⬇

Thank you @tourismsvoice @beerandpub for your gifts as I stepped down from the board after 20 years. A vital industry, so good to hear a positive speech @DCMS @RhonddaBryant. Thank you @RachelReevesMP for signing a very special book!
In a constituency brewery with @RachelReevesMP in 2019, she supported brewing and pubs, so great to see the Budget cut in draft beer duty, but read excellent article by Tim Dewey, @TimothyTaylors @timespolitics. Less regulation by Govt essential for growth.
So, now the target is £9,200 in a week! We have done so well, if you have any Trusts that might help, please do!
Can you help me save our village hall in Piddinghoe? We have a time limited grant from the Platinum Jubilee Fund which we will lose if we don’t raise £31,700 by 31st October. Village halls are so important to communities. gofund.me/5c69877f

Paul Darling could not have been more supportive or helpful to me when I joined the BGC - he was chairman of the ABB. Delightful, charming, fiercely intelligent and yet gave so much to racing, sports ground safety and many other causes - we will all miss him.
Tributes have been paid to Levy Board chairman Paul Darling who died suddenly on Friday, aged 64
