Where there is music waiting for me to play with other musicians, it doesn’t matter much to me if we like each other, or dislike each other.

"The artwork this month is by Spanish artist Juan Genovés. We got stuck on this one because I was trying to find something that represented polical movements without being of one particular movement. Complex is a lot going on. Complicated is a mess. At the heart of "complex" is unified intent, someone dealing with and in a situation. Without this single point of initiative, complex is complicated. The result is dis-integration.

"Discipline" generated a new vocabulary for Crimson; forced the players to abandon clichés & adopt different ways of thinking; used new technology & instruments; and balanced front line & rhythm section with greater equity than the 1973-74 Crim.

"David Rhodes also did a nice funky thing that we merged together and we asked Mike Elizondo to have a go on the mix for the Dark-Side which I think he's done a great job on. Mike's a huge fan of Tony Levin's bass playing but he said "I hear something, would it be ok for me to try putting some bass in?". I always think if you're working with people, let them do their thing." - pg

"The references are from Funk and Soul. Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield - these are people who use that to deliver a message so I think there's a lot from that history that fed into all of this. We have Leo Nocentelli on guitar adding his unique corner of Funk to some of these grooves." - pg
