A 73-year-old British man has appeared in a Spanish court, where he is accused of murdering his wife at their residence in Murcia.
The suspect, named only as Michael John C, was arrested on December 4 2022 after 57-year-old Vanessa Elizabeth was found outside their property in Camposol near the Costa Calida resort town of Mazarron in the south-east province of Murcia. Her injuries included blows to the head.

They basically asked me the exact same thing, when after a night out with my girl friends, a local man broke into my house, and SA'd me while I was in bed at 1.30am. They dropped the charges because they said it was questionable how much I'd had to drink! (I'd had a few half lagers, and a gin & tonic!) I wasn't drunk, I remember everything, but when I told them, it shouldn't matter how much I'd had to drink, that doesn't give him the right to break into my locked house, wander into my room, and try to have sex with me, they got very 'frosty' and basically told me it was my fault for going out for a few drinks with friends. They made me feel guilty for having a bit of fun, in a very sad time in my life. I've never trusted them since then. And I never will.
