I really struggle with social media.
Even if I only consume useful content, I still get overwhelmed...
And I know many of you feel the same.
Creating is not easy, either.
Nostalgia is dangerous, but I miss life before "content" + I want to disappear completely sometimes.

To know intimate details about the lives of others, to read all kinds of negatively charged information that we’d be better off not knowing or seeing?
I doubt it.
But it doesn’t matter because we are all spectators now.
And there is no retvrn."
That piece was a lament.
But I do give one solution to make the content machine more bearable + beautiful...

Idiomatic expression of the day:
"famous last words"
👇
From the book The American Heritage Dictionary of Idioms (2nd ed.) by Christine Ammer.
They say quality > quantity
But you don't get to the former without the latter.
It's quantity that leads you to quality.
They are not opposites, but work in tandem with each other.

An underrated movie:
Quick Change (1990)
Bill Murray co-directed, produced, and starred in this comedy crime caper.
A bank robbery, a wild journey to the airport, and a goofy bestie called Loomis (Randy Quaid) make it a quirky adventure worth watching.

Jorge Luis Borges on the depth and beauty of the English language (1977)

The only part of "write like you talk" that makes sense is to be less formal and more conversational.
Your writing will be full of ums, missing punctuation, and incomplete thoughts if you actually do that.
Remember:
Writing and speaking are two different mediums.
This is why writing is both challenging and rewarding.
It's a craft with many connected parts that you must master.
And it also requires other skills, like humility and discipline, that go beyond just typing words on the page.
Writing teaches you more than you realize.
