On you tube I watched American motor mechanics say that modern cars, fords, and GM were “shit” due to “planed obsolescence” software demanding monthly fees to operate electric seats. Impossible to fix difficult to reach components. Cut out switches? Bad design.

🚨BREAKING: A retired British police officer has been convicted and fined for sharing a meme. The post said: “Fun facts about bacon! People who eat bacon have a lower chance of marrying a 9-year-old!” Stephen Gray, 65, spent 30 years as a police officer. He said the meme was satirical and meant to spark debate about child marriage. A judge ruled it “grossly offensive.” He now has a criminal record.

First the Chinese covid escapes from a lab, it sweeps around the world waylaying millions. Now some Russian breaks a flask of bubonic plague in a lab and dies? Surely she was immunised against bubonic plague? Apparently, antibiotics are effective if given promptly?

Well, stabbing a cheap rubber boat is so much more serious than trying to blow up a multi-million-dollar B-1 bomber!

This is Oliver Hutchings - the man convicted of blackmailing venues into cancelling @KTHopkins during her UK tour. Hopkins lost over £200k due to his harrassment. Hutchings has been released on bail and will return to Southampton Crown Court on 16 October for sentencing.

Yes Britain, France, Germany, huge demonstrations against mass immigration. Being democracies, the governments will be overturned by the votes, not armed revolution.

As another man who once worked with me declares himself saddened by my beliefs on gender and sex, I thought it might be useful to compile a list for handy reference. Which of the following do you imagine makes actors and directors who aren’t involved with the HBO reboot of Harry Potter so miserable? Is it my belief that women and girls should have their own public changing rooms and bathrooms? That women should retain female-only rape crisis centres? That men don’t belong in women’s sport? That female prisoners shouldn’t be incarcerated with violent men and male sex offenders? That women should remain a protected class in law, because they have sex-specific needs and issues? That language should reflect reality rather than ideological jargon, especially in a medical context? That women shouldn’t be harassed, persecuted or fired for refusing to pretend humans can change sex? That women should not be threatened with violence and rape when they assert their rights? That freedom of speech and belief are essential to a pluralistic democratic society? That troubled minors, especially those who are gay, autistic and trauma-experienced, should be given mental health support instead of irreversible surgeries and drug treatments on non-existent evidence of benefit? That gay people shouldn’t be pressured to include the opposite sex in their dating pools, nor should they be smeared as ‘genital fetishists’ when they don’t? That cross-dressing heterosexual male fetishists aren’t actually oppressed, but having the time of their lives piggybacking off gender identity ideology? That said ideology, and the privileged, blinkered fools pushing it because they suffer zero consequences themselves, have done more damage to the political left’s credibility than Trump and Farage could have achieved in a century? Let me have your thoughts.

There are 3,700 police officers of Indian and Pakistani origin in the British police. They simply didn't learn the law and don't know it. In Britain, calling a police officer a "clown" is not a criminal offense. I really hope he sues those police officers for an illegal false arrest.

I have often thought that one of the ways to reduce cost as the NHS would be to centralise purchasing for all items from cotton wool buds to MRI machines. These days Amazon boast that you can place an order at 10 am and it can be delivered by 4pm the same day. Imagine a government contract awarded to Amazon to store in one central warehouse all NHS materials . Allowing every hospital in the UK to send orders for supplies. Also imagine as an example of one item, how many cotton wool buds are sitting in stock at each and every hospital in the country. It will run into millions, whereas using the just in time ordering this stock pile would be massively reduced. Further to this (and I maybe wrong) each hospital have buyers for all supplies. They are able to use any supplier they choose and I am sure not at the best prices . Centralised supplies offers great negotiation power with suppliers.

Thank you all for sharing. This case sets a new precedent
This is an unusual case and an interesting result for @KTHopkins. Police and the CPS brought blackmail charges over a campaign to force venues to drop a performer and damage their businesses. A jury convicted. The law already covers concerted attempts to destroy someone’s livelihood through threats and pressure. That part is not new. Enforcing it like this is. Malicious communications, harassment and conspiracy already exist. Using blackmail against this kind of campaign goes a step further. This was one man, not a group. Even so, malicious targeting of an individual’s ability to trade has been taken seriously here. That makes group criminal prosecutions for conspiracy to harass or malicious communications look more realistic than they did last week. That would be a useful tool.

Old person musing. I went for a walk with my three year old grand daughter this morning and in addition to all the farm animals, we saw a rabbit, a deer and loads of butterflies and she was constantly amazed. And my God, I was so so happy.
