“It’s nice to get the first win on the board. Jonathan was pretty keen on her chances. She was a little bit restless in the gate so I had to go to Plan B and ride her patiently. Originally, we wanted to start in the first three, but it worked out. I was also hoping in the straight that she was going to grind them out and nail them late. I suppose I have to apologize to the people who I rode the first few horses for, it takes a few races to get used to it again. It is such a tight track compared to what we are used to in Europe. I’m sure I'll get the hang of it.
“She was just giving her heart and soul.” Jamie Spencer after his win aboard Tirupati.
Emma is absolutely adorable 🥺 I’ll be rooting for her and Anisette 💕
MEET TEAM CARMA: Emma Rosas + Anisette
At just 15 years old, Pony Club member Emma Rosas is heading to Kentucky with a horse she hopes to grow up alongside. ❤️
Emma began working with CARMA Grad Anisette, a 5-year-old California-bred Thoroughbred, in March to learn how to retrain a recently retired racehorse for a second career. Anisette made 10 starts in California, winning three times and earning $28,781 before beginning her next chapter.
Now, Emma and Anisette are on their way to compete in Competitive Trail at the Retired Racehorse Project Thoroughbred Makeover at the Kentucky Horse Park. Emma will compete as a junior alongside her trainer and mentor, Kiersti Wylie.
A longtime Pony Club member, Emma has competed at three Pony Club Championships, helped teach fellow Pony Clubbers, and volunteered with therapeutic riding programs, rescue horses, and retired racehorses.
For Emma, though, the Makeover is only the beginning.
“The true prize is coming home from this competition with my forever horse, who I will continue to love, teach, have fun with, and show as we grow up together.”
Through the Messineo Makeover Scholarship, CARMA is helping fund Anisette’s journey from California to Kentucky — and we can’t wait to cheer this pair on! 💙🐎

Cleaning up old memory cards I had at the bottom of my camera bag and found these of my girl Gamine's maiden win on March 6th, 2020.
This is really cute 🥰

Thank you to everyone who has reached out regarding jockey Florent Geroux after his spill tonight.
He is currently in stable condition but will continue to be monitored in the ICU over the coming days. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated! #TeamGeroux🇫🇷 @flothejock
They should cut the Indy 500 to 150 laps 🥴😵💫
