#BREAKING: In NC Supreme Court race, Griffin has wrongly accused at least 30 voters of never residing in NC, including 22 with a history of in-person voting. With court action imminent, I pulled an all-nighter to bring you this paywall-free story. #ncpol substack-proxy.glitch.me/art…

New NCSBE numbers on spoiled ballots. 👇 #ncpol
Updated the story with new numbers from the State Board of Elections, which reports "a slight increase in spoiled ballot rates in 2026 (3.1%) compared to 2022 (2.6%) at this stage in each election" (not the doubling Stein referenced) #ncpol

Whatley spreading an unfounded claim regarding Roy Cooper's health: "No wonder he's got a little slippage going on right now. You may have seen the reports. I have to be careful asking about his mental accuity or I'll get sued." #ncpol

When a conservative activist inquired about both Senate candidates' health. A Cooper attorney replied, "Any suggestion that he is 'experiencing a neurological issue,' or that any health condition would prevent him from completing his term, is categorically false and defamatory."

In last Friday’s Caucus and my recent social media posts, I described a staff member of the North State Journal as a “conservative activist.” It would have been better to describe her as a “conservative writer."

Turnout in #NC01 is up 35.1% compared to 2022, with the caveat of excluding the small sliver of Granville and Onslow (which accounts for 2.1% of the newly drawn district). #ncpol

That’s comparing 23 whole counties in the new #NC01 with 23 whole counties that were spread across multiple districts in 2022 election.

Can't say I'm aware of any other #ncpol reporters who headline county party events and accept money from political groups, but please feel free to let me know if I'm wrong. (Moore Republican Women gave Dillon $500 to speak at an event last year).
That's an apology? You're unreal. I am a reporter, Bryan. That's my title. If reporting for 8 years (going back to 2016) on sexual assault by staff in K-12 and then using that reporting to get laws changed makes me a "conservative activist," then you need your head examined.

Real leaders fight for the people, not for power. To condition doing the right thing by sick North Carolinians on who wins the election is foul.

Will do a closer comparison when we get fresh data tomorrow. It won’t account for sliver of Granville and Onslow in the new #NC01, but can compare turnout in 23 whole counties that are in new #NC01 with 2022 turnout. Requires adding up 46 data points, but that’ll be more useful.

A party official with the NCGOP actually pulled me to the side after a 20-second interaction with a candidate during a post-event gaggle. So no, not chasing a candidate around a restaurant. If anything, the other way around. Your correction and apology is accepted. #ncpol
Pretty rich coming from a guy who chased Michael Whatley around a restaurant asking him to name Carolina Hurricanes players. #ncpol

North Carolina drops to 13th on GOP's Senate priority list for future ad spending. #ncpol
Over the final two weeks, Republicans have $208M booked in Senate races to Democrats’ $147M. #OHSen is in the lead, set to receive 20% of each party’s Senate reservations. Each party’s top investments, and each state’s share of that party’s Senate spending for the final push:
