Introducing your newest PhD candidate in Ecology and Evolution. Just aced my oral prelims on testing for genetic constraints on adaptive evolution across life stages in marine invertebrates with pelagic larval stages and benthic adult stages.

I've been finding all sorts of things while cleaning out my childhood home. Did not expect to find the program for the first conference I attended, though. Pretty crazy to think about how that was almost 8 years ago.

I want to host a jungle/dnb event but I fear it may be a but much.

Saw a cool moth but I know nothing about identifying them.

Almost went on off on a tangent about kleptoplasty to my non-science friends after watching that one tiktok

It really feels strange knowing that I'm in the last quarter of my PhD. It nearly feels unreal.

My life changed when someone told me that moths are a paraphyletic group. I felt like so much was a lie.

Well I'll be. I knew the spines were modified leaves, but I didn't know actual leaves came out of them

I'm so glad that I collected my critters before it began to rain more frequently

The word "small" is triggering me. What is "small" here, the force I land with and therefore also a function of my mass? Is it the pinnacle of my jump? What happens if it's "medium" or "large" and what are the cut-offs? Measurement Theory has ruined me.
