Today I pulled out of our Nashville house for the last time.
I got choked up. Didn't expect that.
We moved there from a tiny place in LA into what looked like the dream. An acre. A pool. A pool house. We had a baby there.
Turns out the dream needed a lot of mowing. A lot of fixing. A lot of money. A lot of time I'll never get back.
I'm 41. I never thought I'd be moving my family for the second time in five years. I'm counting the gray hairs and there are more every month.
Memento mori. You only get so many years. I'd rather spend mine close to the people I love than taking care of a house that was too big for us.
