If you are interested in getting into the bison industry.. consider coming to a regional conference or the national.
If you’re interested in getting started in the bison industry, our advice would be to get to know the people in the industry first. Build relationships, learn from other producers, and take the time to understand the industry.
We’d also recommend having a plan for your operation before making a bunch of decisions. Figure out what you want your operation to do, whether that’s selling calves, finishing calves, or selling breeding stock. There are different avenues you can take, and having a plan from the start will help guide your decisions along the way.
This industry is filled with amazing people who just want to help more ranchers get started. This isn't competitive, we know we will never have enough bison to meat demand, and pretty much everyone is helpful and friendly, there is only one A-hole in the biz... and he makes socks.
This is our across the street neighbor.. Such a flipping amazing woman, and still can ride exceptionally well, and competing too.
Mary Bradford & Reybellina made their Way Out West moment count, taking home the Reserve Championship in Leg Five at the Idaho Cutting Horse Association Futurity!
Reworking the butcher shop here this weekend, got a lot to do. New walls, new flooring, rewire it, and get stainless tables and shelving installed.
but not all construction work is equally enjoyable. For example, enlarging a drilled hole is boring, but fastening pieces of metal together is riveting.
Good Morning and Happy Hump Day Xitterverse friends..

Such amazing people, and they tolerate me...
Bringing the message of Agriculture and Conservation to the screen is how we help people understand where our food comes from, why the people raising it matters, and why consumer choices matter. Shauna and I have spent the last few days out of our element (the pastures) and into the realm of Hollywood to promote and share these valuable stories. We’ve met some great people and had the opportunity to catch up with incredible friends we’ve made along the way.
On a side note… I totally forgot to take off my reading glasses (clics) for the social hour 🤦🏻♂️ Shauna said I was in full “Charlie representation” whatever that means 🥸
