It was a helluva Halloween battle in the 🌧️ We weren’t at our best, but told our squad at halftime to keep knocking, and that after we scored the equalizer, then it would become our game. It took stoppage time. Thanks to all who supported us from near & far 🫶 @opencup @usopencup
Yesterday Seattle lost but Portland won. With that, Colorado Rapids drop to 9th ahead of Decision Day. Timbers on paper have the easiest fixture. The six-pointers elsewhere help Colorado provided they can get a result at Dallas.
Denver Summit miss out on playoffs in their inaugural year on NWSL Decision Day:
burgundywave.com/2026/11/01/…
Final. NC Courage 1, Denver Summit 0.
Not that it mattered with Seattle winning. Courage were the better team in the second half. A Kurtz own goal in her return to her former club. Tough. Courage were the better team in the second half. Lots to like about Summit’s expansion yr.
Fulltime in Seattle. Seattle Reign 1, Orlando Pride 0. Seattle claims the 8th and final NWSL playoff spot.
Denver Summit FC’s inaugural season will end tonight. #TogetherWeClimb
68’ Seattle Reign have scored on a corner. The Orlando Pride defense finally breaks. 1-0.
Now need two Orlando goals in 22 minutes. To say nothing of Denver Summit getting a goal in North Carolina. 0-0 at WakeMed.
#TogetherWeClimb
Halftime. NC Courage 0, Denver Summit 0.
Orlando and Seattle is also scoreless. Even game. Summit with more of the ball and more chances. Ashley Sanchez almost had a jailbreak counter twice. She scored a goalkeeper chip but was offside. Summit need a goal. #ToGetherWeClimb
Fulltime in Lexington! Christian Herrera saves the penalty in the bottom of the 5th! Colorado Switchbacks for the first time have won a road playoff game! 1-1 (5-4)!
1' NWSL Decision Day has kicked off. Denver Summit at NC Courage. Seattle Reign hosting Orlando Pride. Summit need a win and a Pride win. This is @ByMattPollard. Together We Climb.
0-0
Denver Summit lineup at NC Courage:
Smith
Oke-Gaetino-Kurtz-Sonis
Lynch-Sheehan
Ryan-Heaps(c)-Flint
Kössler
Bench: Reid, Means, Regan, Yuna, Brazier, Yuzuki, Bonner, Thomas, Asman.
Zack Steffen was not present for the Colorado Rapids Jersey Off Our Backs last night. That’s not uncommon for injured players, particularly those with a long term injury. But there is a good track record of players missing that not returning the following season.
End of regulation! Masereka won a soft penalty and Khori Bennett beat former Rapids draft pick Oliver Semmle! This game is headed to extra time!
Bad starts for Switchbacks in the Western Conference Quarterfinals. Williams concedes an early penalty and Herrera can't save it. 1-0 in Lexington.
