just used fantastical's new scheduling feature for the first time. worked like a charm. one wish if possible: automatically include microsoft teams links in the invite. right now have to manually add teams stuff to invite after scheduled. @flexibits
the latest version of @1Password recaptures some of the magic lost when there wasn't a direct, non-beta integration between the browser extension and desktop app for subscribers. this "open in 1password" and subsequent touch ID support gives me warm fuzzies.
for most users, @Cloudflare's free VPN is perfect for securing connections to public wifi. apps available for iOS/android and mac/windows. super easy to use even for the non-techie. just enable anytime you're connected to public wifi. one.one.one.one/
specifically, i'm referring to the ambiguously named 1.1.1.1 with WARP service. while it doesn't advertise itself as a VPN, it functions as one. note: it doesn't anonymize your IP or let you bypass geo-blocked content. but it does secure your connection from prying eyes.
Wow. v5.0 of @CARROT_app is a huge update. Glad I bought it earlier and am locked in at the old (insanely cheap for the value) price. It's now freemium but totally worth an annual subscription to unlock more features. It's easily the best weather app. apps.apple.com/us/app/carrot…
just noticed #bettertouchtool now supports creating a hyperkey. that means i don't need karabiner-elements anymore! updates.folivora.ai/betterto…
Using this tool to help get all my digital photos from early 2000 uploaded before they start counting towards my storage limit. Works decent with some nuances (namely not honoring rate limit warnings). github.com/gphotosuploader/g…

The iPhone 12 Pro is noticeably heavier than my XS. Initial impression is that it's actually too heavy for a phone.
flying out this weekend for the first time since february. that motivated me to update some broken code. now i can sleep in and not have to manually check in at the crack of dawn. completely revamped things into an easier-to-use ruby gem. 💎 github.com/byalextran/southw…
You know what’s irritating? The Apple News+ paywall for articles you can read for free on a publisher’s own site.
My remote coworkers are posting pics of them working with their pets. I finally caved and let Sammy hang out with me. @digitalocean
Thankful I got to watch the @Chiefs game on my @SouthwestAir flight. That was the craziest pendulum-swinging half of football I’ve ever seen. From 0-24 to 28-24 at half. #gochiefs
twenty twenty will be the first default theme i actually use. can't wait to migrate my sites over to it. it's such a great blend of simplicity, typography, and subtle design elements. and it really showcases the power/flexibility of the block editor.
WordPress 5.3 “Kirk” is available for download! With over 150 new enhancements, Kirk is more intuitive than previous releases, focuses on accessibility, and includes a fresh new default theme. wordpress.org/news/2019/11/k…
kinda cool to read a random article about the upcoming twenty twenty wordpress theme and realize you've contributed code to two things it mentions.
1. the open issue (now closed!) about the full width template.
2. the code adding custom logo support.
