True. More than double the amount of passes, more xG, more shots & more touches in the oppo box however I also watched Mourinho do the same to Barca couple hours later. Moral of the story is don’t get done on the counter.

Yamal stays on the touchline too much like he is just a normal player. When he gets the ball inside the pitch he is also dangerous no need to just stand in 1v1s with your LB.
The amount of time these La Liga defenders get on the ball compared to the PL. Watching a different sport here you get to build up how you like. Makes it a better watch tbf technically.

🏴 Trey Nyoni didn’t misplace a single pass (11/11) and won 100% of his duels (1/1) during his cameo today.
Impressed by his defensive contribution - made some important clearances (3).
Looks more and more assured with every minute he gets.
I picked 4 random Leverkusen games from the 23/24 season & the one thing I don’t understand about Alonso’s current Chelsea team is his former team were completing a crazy amount of passes and touches in the oppo box. That was his philosophy so what changed?
Alonso's tactical set-up was not befitting of a club that say they want to be competing with the biggest and best soon enough. They showed no authority, no ingenuity, no sense that they were prepared to make the most of what little possession they had as the ball was hoofed in hope. Wirtz is good but he’s not this price tag good which just skews my perception of him constantly! If he was 60/70m I would appreciate him more which is actually not his fault. Team plays better when he connects the play to a decent level.
