Most of all, I would like to thank you, Canada, for the purely human thing: making Ukrainians feel at home when they are here, in Canada. Thank you. This is not just a legacy of history. This is a legacy of character.
Not sure how much longer I’ll be on Twitter (Not going to call it X) if you want to know what I’m up to you can find me on threads and Instagram
It funny how the conservative's policy statements talk about bodily autonomy regarding vaccination, but nearly every sitting member of the conservative party has repeatedly voted in favour of anti-choice private member bills
While Conservatives court misogynistic online groups and Poilievre surrounds himself with MPs who have “perfect voting scores” from organizations that work to eliminate a woman’s right to choose, our government will always stand up for women and girls. #GenderEqualityWeek

Brilliant speech by @MarkJCarney at the #GlobalProgressAction23
“…and that’s our calling, to build. Progressives build things that last: healthcare, infrastructure, schools, opportunities, sustainability, and prosperity. Now others have a different model. They are in the demolition business. Far-right populists see the anxiety of today as an opportunity to stoke the anger that’s necessary for their project. …their solution ‘to take back control’ ended up code for ‘tear down the future’.”

Mark Carney, "When Brexiters tried to create Singapore-on-the-Thames, the Truss government instead delivered Argentina-on-the-Channel."
Calm, measured, enlightening. This speech by @MarkJCarney at the Global Progress Action Summit is a must watch #GlobalProgressAction23 👏
Thank you Ryan and to all the other parliamentarians working hard for Canadians
Canadians need relief at the grocery store and that’s exactly what we are doing! After close to a year of record profits the BIG 5 grocery chains will have to work for Canadians not against them. Because it is unfair seeing Canadians struggle while the grocery giants make record profits.
The Federal government will be requiring grocery chains to come up with a plan that provides real relief on grocery prices to Canadians by Thanksgiving. If they fail to do so, the Federal government will take further action and has ruled nothing out. We will ensure Canadians get the relief they need.
I will do everything in my power to make life more affordable for the residents of Whitby and for Canadians across the country. 🙏

“Globally, almost a third of all women of reproductive age are anaemic; the prevalence is highest in west and central Africa, south Asia where half of young women are anaemic. In the USA, the prevalence of anaemia in Black women is four to seven times higher than in white women”
“The failure to recognise the racism underpinning differences in anaemia by ‘race’ manifests as a stubborn intergenerational disadvantage that demands our urgent attention.”

Climate change is a big contributor to inflation
“…climate change could add one percentage point to global inflation every year between now and 2035. The worst effects would be reserved for food prices, which could rise by over 3% every year…” #cdnpoli finance.yahoo.com/news/clima…

As a teenager, my teachers kept a secret for me and, in many ways, they're the reason I'm here and even part-way intact. When our Principal told my parents about me without my consent, I was kicked out. This is how you increase youth homelessness — at the expense of their rights.

Some days after feeling like less than myself, it helps me to be reminded of my own particular brand of magic. Writing this book was a full circle moment allow me the opportunity to process and move forward contented with the outcome. I feel myself on the cusp of another story.

How different might the world be if Stanton had wielded more influence on the suffragette movement than she did?" - @CADunphy secularhumanism.org/2023/07/…
