Text a parent sent me this morning. This is why you have to be around real basketball players. Not social leisure ones. Ones who truly want to play college ball.

Dear Coaches,
Yes, your job is important, but it's not everything. At the end of the day, you won't regret not making one more call, sending one more email, staying one more hour. You'll regret not spending time with a friend, a family member, a loved one.
Sincerely,
Priorities

They are raving about HS talent at @Tabchoops this weekend in Dallas. This after six DFW kids were taken in last week’s @NBADraft. Why? Dramatically improved high school coaching over the last 20 years, PE period allows HS coach all 9 months of school to work with players, great athletes there with infusion of kids to the Sun Belt from the North & great, highly competitive spring/fall events!

Here in SC, HS hoop teams can practice as a team (With coaches) as well as play surrounding towns with refs/scoreboards/ etc. Completely normal and legal…and get this Massachusetts, the world did not end!!! AMAZING! – at Mount Pleasant, SC

Remember, Coaches:
You set the tone at high school athletic events. Everyone is watching how YOU behave.
Your #1 responsibility: Be a positive role model for students, parents and fans!
