And w/o federal funding research in the US is largely compromised as a “pause” would requiere many labs to let go people with high level training and expertise. Recovering from such personnel losses takes lots of resources in training and time. Not a smart move!
About a month after Donald Trump took office as the 47th US president, almost all grant-review meetings remain suspended at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), preventing the world’s largest public funder of biomedical research from spending much of its US$47 billion annual budget. go.nature.com/4k8Njjx

New paper out! Here Vicky tested our DDO (DVG-derived Oligonucleotide) as a type 1 immunity-inducer adjuvant in mRNA vaccines using influenza NP as a model antigen...works great in mice by stimulating RLRs! journals.asm.org/doi/epub/10…

Mourning the loss of Dr. Diane Griffin, who passed away on Monday. Dr. Griffin was a founding member of @CMM_JHU and chaired our advisory board. A distinguished virologist, she was an elected member of Natl Acad Sci and Natl Acad Med. We remember her with gratitude.
