Did you tune out of baseball once football got going, thinking you wouldn't miss much? Think again. Fortunately, I've taken the the time to recap all the most important developments: cbssports.com/fantasy/baseba…

Next up in my early 2027 rankings is my top 30 in the outfield, a position that looks pretty stout if you're willing to give some of the early-round disappointments a pass. Find out where Ronald Acuna and Kyle Tucker place for me: cbssports.com/fantasy/baseba…

My top 20 shortstops for 2027 are here. With some of the old guard fading at the position, I'm not sure we can call it the best anymore: cbssports.com/fantasy/baseba…

A best-of-seven sweep against this generation's juggernaut is remarkable. Good for them.
THE BREWERS ARE HEADED TO THE WORLD SERIES.
Milwaukee will make their first fall classic appearance in 44 years 🔥

Next up in early rankings: third base, which I presumed would be the weakest position. It's not great, but I think it's a little stronger than 2B. Check it out: cbssports.com/fantasy/baseba…

I think what made this most obvious was the conversation going into Game 3.
"Wow, the Braves took a risk by not starting Sale, but now they're all tied with him at full rest. Brilliant!"
"Yeah, too bad the Dodgers can only counter with ... the guy who willed them to the World Series championship with a historic postseason performance last year and just so happens to be the decorated pitcher in the history of Japanese baseball."

Dang
The postseason isn't near over, but I can't wait to update this breathtaking list. The White Sox have now won a playoff series in only the *second* baseball season since 1918:

This is how I won @ToutWars this year. There was also Parker Messick in Round 26, but the point is that I'm often struck by how bizarrely championship teams come together. Getting six of your first 10 picks wrong (with Turang and Hader being the other successes) in a highly competitive 15-team league seems like a recipe for disaster, but enough windfall-type picks can make up for it, particularly when the misses are more just underwhelming than absent. It happens this way more often than any of us would care to admit. I won by 12, by the way.
