You can care deeply and still take a break. 💚 Election season can bring tension into everyday moments—checking your phone, talking with family or wondering what comes next. If you’re feeling anxious, frustrated or worn down, give yourself permission to step away from the headlines. Taking a break doesn’t mean you don’t care. Your well-being matters, too. 📞 If the worry feels heavy, call 988 or text 988 for free, confidential support, 24/7. You don’t have to be in immediate crisis to talk with someone. #ElectionStress #EmotionalWellness #MentalHealthSupport #ContraCostaCrisisCenter #988

Knowing where to turn can make asking for help feel a little easier. 💚 During National Health Education Week, we’re sharing two numbers worth saving—and what each one can help with: 📞 211: When you need help finding food, housing resources, utility assistance or other local services. 📞 Call 988 or text 988: When you’re struggling emotionally, feeling overwhelmed or need someone to talk to. Maybe you’re worried about paying a bill. Maybe that worry is keeping you awake at night. Sometimes you need practical help, emotional support or both. You don’t have to have everything figured out before asking for help. Save these numbers or share this post with someone who might need them. #NationalHealthEducationWeek #KnowWhereToTurn #CommunityResources #ContraCostaCrisisCenter #211

Sometimes change means waking up to a life that doesn’t feel like yours. The person you used to call is no longer there. Your health has changed what you can do. Or you’ve started something new, but you miss the comfort of knowing what to expect. Even a change you chose can leave you grieving parts of the life you had. You can be hopeful about what’s ahead and still feel sad, scared or unsure today. 💚 You don’t have to rush to “get used to it” or pretend you’re okay because others expect you to be. Adjusting takes time, and you deserve support while you find your way. 📞 Call or text 988 for free, confidential support, 24/7. You can start with, “Things have changed, and I’m having a hard time.” #NavigatingChange #EmotionalWellness #MentalHealthSupport #ContraCostaCrisisCenter #988

It’s still Sunday, but your mind is already on Monday. The inbox waiting for you. The responsibilities you’re trying to keep up with. A situation you wish you didn’t have to face. You may feel that worry building as the evening goes on—even if you’ve spent the day trying to relax. If that’s where you are tonight, you’re not alone. 💚 You don’t have to figure out the whole week before you go to bed. For now, ask yourself: “What would help me feel a little more supported tonight?” Maybe it’s talking with someone, writing down what’s worrying you or giving yourself permission to leave a few things for tomorrow. 📞 If the worry feels heavy, call or text 988 for free, confidential support, 24/7. You can talk about what’s ahead and how you’re feeling right now. You deserve care tonight, too. #SundayCheckIn #SundayStress #MentalHealthSupport #ContraCostaCrisisCenter #988Support

Today, on Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, we hold space for those remembering a baby and the future they imagined together. 🕯️ your love and your loss matter. You don’t have to explain why it still hurts or set aside your grief to make others comfortable. If someone you love is grieving, let them know you remember, too. Listen if they want to talk, and let them know they don’t have to pretend they’re okay with you. 💚 Contra Costa Crisis Center offers grief support. Learn more at crisis-center.org. If you need someone to listen today—or in the quiet hours tonight—call or text 988. #PregnancyAndInfantLossRemembranceDay #GriefSupport #YouAreNotAlone #ContraCostaCrisisCenter

Maybe you’ve been holding it together all day, only to fall apart when you’re finally alone. 😓 Maybe you’re showing up for everyone else while quietly wondering how much longer you can keep going. When you’ve been hurting for a long time, it can be hard to picture anything feeling different. You deserve care in that place, too—not only when you have the energy to ask for it. 💚 You don’t have to put on a brave face or find the right words. “I’m having a hard time, and I need someone to listen” is enough. 📞 Call or text 988 for free, confidential support, 24/7. Someone can listen while you share what’s been weighing on you and help you take the next step. #MentalHealthMatters #WithHelpComesHope #YouMatter #ContraCostaCrisisCenter #988Support

On National Coming Out Day🏳️‍🌈, we’re sending a message to our LGBTQ+ community: You belong. Your feelings matter. You deserve care and respect. Whether you’re living openly, questioning, choosing who to tell or keeping this part of your life private, your identity is valid. Coming out is a personal decision. You get to choose your timing, consider your safety and decide what feels right for you. For friends and family, support can begin with a few simple words:
“Thank you for trusting me.”
“I care about you.”
“What would feel supportive right now?” Listen without judgment, respect their privacy and let them lead. 💚 If you’re feeling overwhelmed, isolated or distressed, call 988 or text 988. You deserve someone who will listen. #NationalComingOutDay #LGBTQSupport #YouBelong #ContraCostaCrisisCenter #WithHelpComesHope

This World Mental Health Day, let’s make more room for honest answers to “How are you?” Sometimes the answer is “I’m overwhelmed.”
Sometimes it’s “I’ve been feeling alone.”
Sometimes it’s “I don’t know how to explain it, but I’m having a hard time.” Every one of those answers deserves care. When someone opens up, listen without rushing to fix everything. Ask what would help. Let their experience guide the conversation. And if you’re the one struggling, you don’t need the perfect explanation to reach out. You can start with: “I need someone to talk to.” 💚 Call 988 or text 988 for support with emotional distress. #WorldMentalHealthDay #YouDeserveSupport #MentalHealthMatters #ContraCostaCrisisCenter #WithHelpComesHope

A reminder to pause and take your mental health seriously. If changes in your mood, energy, sleep or interest in everyday life have been lingering, consider talking with a healthcare or mental health professional. You don’t have to figure out what’s happening on your own. 💚 If you’re experiencing emotional distress and need someone to listen now, call 988 or text 988. #NationalDepressionScreeningDay #DepressionAwareness #MentalHealthSupport #ContraCostaCrisisCenter #WithHelpComesHope

Sometimes a child’s hardest day isn’t about homework. It’s about being left out, laughed at or afraid of what will happen tomorrow. October is National Bullying Prevention Month—a reminder to pay attention to how children feel at school, in their friendships and online. Make space for a conversation without rushing to an answer. Try asking: “Who do you feel comfortable around?” “Is there a part of your day you wish you could skip?” If your child shares that they’re being bullied, start with: “I’m glad you told me. This isn’t your fault. We’ll work through this together.” Listen, take their concerns seriously and involve a trusted teacher or school staff member to help create a plan for safety and support. 💚 If you’re concerned about your child’s emotional well-being or need support yourself, call 988 or text 988. #BullyingPreventionMonth #ParentingSupport #ChildrensMentalHealth #ContraCostaCrisisCenter #WithHelpComesHope

Someone can show up for work, care for their family and laugh with friends—and still be struggling with their mental health. During Mental Illness Awareness Week, make room for what we may not see. Hear them when someone says they’re having a hard time. Resist the urge to compare their experience to someone else’s. Instead of “But you seem fine,” try: “Thank you for telling me. How can I support you?” Showing someone that you believe them and care about them is a meaningful place to start. 💚 If you’re experiencing emotional distress or worried about someone you love, call 988 or text 988. You deserve to be heard. #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek #MentalHealthMatters #Call988 #ContraCostaCrisisCenter #WithHelpComesHope
