ALT A calendar for the month of February 2024 zoomed in so that only one corner with nine non-consecutive days are visible. White squares with rounded corners represent the days of the week and in the top left hand corner of the squares are the day (Sun, Mon, Tue) and date (04, 05, 06). In the centre of the nine squares is an orange square with rounded corners with Mon and 12 in the top right hand corner. White text on the square reads "Registrations for the accreditation exam open today!". The days that come before the orange square have big orange crosses on them showing those days have passed.

Always fun to learn new words from the cryptic crossword. Today's (from the #SunHerald cryptic) is anthelion, which the dictionary tells me is 'a luminous halo round a shadow projected by the sun on to a cloud or fog bank'. Lovely! #crypticcrossword #lovewords #ccediting

Terrific keynote from @rolysussex on editors as boundary umpires. I've learnt a new word: penumbra (grey area). #IPEdConf21

Anaphora: intentional repetition of a word or phrase at the beginning of several clauses or paragraphs. Think Dr Martin Luther King Jr’s ‘I have a dream’ speech or the opening lines to
A Tale of Two Cities by Dickens. More examples? #wordweekends #literarydevices #EditBoost2WC
My gorgeous Canadian penpal sent me 'On Writing' by Stephen King. She's a massive SK fan and was shocked to learn I've never read any of his books (not being into horror). She figured I might like this one. Can't wait to get stuck in! #onwriting #amreading #EditBoost2WC
