Accessibility includes communication and information, accessible buildings, assistive devices and reasonable accommodations. One participant, a volleyball lover, shared that he is unable to fully participate in the sport because he does not have the adaptive devices he needs.

What is the Two-Thirds Gender Rule? The Constitution requires that no more than two-thirds of an elected or appointed body should be of the same gender: women and men should each have at least one-third representation. #GenderEquality #WomenInLeadership #WomenWithDisabilities

But 16 years after the Constitution was adopted, Parliament has yet to fully realise this principle. Two Bills now propose a mechanism through special seats. At the heart of gender equality must be the inclusion of all women, including women with disabilities.

If we do not have disaggregated data, we cannot clearly see how women with disabilities are participating, who is being represented, or where the gaps remain. Women with disabilities must be visible in conversations on representation, leadership and the Two-Thirds Gender Rule.
