Exactly right. It's a mettalic silver rather than fractal diamond as used in CFP. Has been worn by Oregon football (2017) and currently worn by a variety of SB and BSB teams

Traditionally, there have been two varieties of CFP Championship patches. Black # for white jersey and white # for color jersey. LSU has broken that trend this year wearing the patch previously only worn on colored jerseys. The change really makes the CFP football logo standout
