September 18th is National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day (#HIVandAging), a day to recognize how advances in #HIVtreatment support people living with HIV to live longer-healthier lives and how older people living with #HIV may face different issues than their younger counterparts.
Over 50% of people living with diagnosed HIV in the U.S. are over the age of 50. People with HIV are living longer, healthier lives thanks to antiretroviral therapy (ART) and other HIV treatment advancements. Despite this, older adults living with HIV experience unique challenges as they age. Explore resources for older adults with HIV: hiv.gov/hiv-basics/living-we… #NHAAD #HealthyAging #AgingWell #AgingWithHIV #HIVAndAging
