Great thread by @lauren_henke on GU003 / hypofrac for post-prostatectomy RT 👇🏼
Remember for post-op RT, the target *includes* the critical neighboring organs. Can't dose escalate 🎯 w/o ⬆️ dose to bladder neck and rectum @piet_ost @alison_tree @PaulSargos

1/5 🧵 @NRGOnc GU003 5-y: HYPORT 62.5 Gy/25 fx increased G3 GU toxicity vs conventional RT (13% vs 3%) ⚠️, with no improvement in biochemical control.
BUT!!! Before we conclude hypofractionation is worse, take heed—this is a DOSE ESCALATION problem.

Presented our @ARRO_org-jDEGRO survey at #ASTRO26: only 20% of U.S. trainees had rotation exposure to nonmalignant RT, and 65% saw just 0-10 cases during residency. Yet 95.8% supported including training for non malignant RT in core residency training. #RadOnc #MedEd @ASTRO_org

2/5 while OAR dose was scaled to match, target was NOT. The EQD2 of the hypofrac arm was ~71 Gy vs ~63 Gy for the conventional arm.
This isn’t simply “hypofrac vs conventional.” You’re also testing a substantially higher EQD2.
