September is National Attendance Awareness Month. Regular school attendance improves academic achievement and graduation rates. Students who attend school regularly increase their chances of success – in school and life! #BePresentBePowerful #BrightFuturesBeginInHCS #HenryProud #YouBelongInHenry

All Henry County Schools students will participate in a full day of asynchronous learning at home on Friday, September 4. Students can access their assignments through Classlink at bit.ly/LaunchPad-Class by selecting the Asynchronous Learning Day icon. #BrightFuturesBeginInHCS #HenryProud #YouBelongInHenry

Join us Saturday, March. 28, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., at the HCS Learning and Support Center for a day filled with literacy, learning, and giving, featuring free books, free food, interactive family workshops, summer camp exhibitors, Read-A-Thon winners, and mentorship/apprenticeship opportunities. With support from DJ Greg Street and V-103, we share ways to prevent summer learning loss, also known as "summer slide." Let’s build Bright Futures together! Families of students, ages 5-12, register by March 26 at bit.ly/Summerslide26. #HenryProud #BrightFutures #YouBelongInHenry

This week on “Catch the Pace,” Dr. Pace looks ahead to the next school year, inviting families with children who will be five years old by September 1 to prepare for Kindergarten Registration, which opens on March 24. HCS commits to providing a strong foundation in early learning, through a robust academic curriculum supported by an emphasis on social and emotional development. Families are encouraged to begin the process early to ensure a smooth start to the school year. Visit our website to learn more about required documents and other details. 📃: henry.k12.ga.us/kinder #BrightFuturesBeginInHCS #HenryProud #YouBelongInHenry

HCS will delay all school and district-wide operations by two hours tomorrow morning due to severe weather projected for this area and the potential for elevated impacts, including high winds and possible tornados. Elementary schools will start at 9:35 a.m.; high schools will start at 10:15 a.m.; and middle schools will start at 11 a.m. Bus routes will also change to reflect the two-hour delay (for example, if a student's school bus stop is at 7:15 a.m., it will be adjusted to 9:15 a.m.). The delayed start will not change the time school ends, including dismissal by bus transportation. All staff should report two hours delayed if it is safe to do so. If hazardous conditions develop in your area, please make the best decision for your family and communicate with your school regarding tardiness or absences.
