As many like Jacqueline have touched on before, we need another exit off of City Island. The Ferry would provide such an opportunity- #yescityislandferry

Neighbors- we have been advised by the 45th Precinct that the City Island Bridge is currently close as they examine a possible condition associated with the accident at the war memorial earlier this evening. We will share more details as they become known.
We have a unique opportunity here to take advantage of the walkability of our neighborhood to boost foot traffic for local businesses, help cut commute times to Manhattan & reduce car traffic on the Ave. We should take advantage of it!

Pamela makes a good point, many other waterfront communities are enjoying these fast, reliable, transit options. Transit where you can see more of our City and allowing for wifi while traveling.
Why not City Island?

Why not City Island?
We agree, Matt. We can possibly restore Belden Point Pier and make life better for both our neighbors and our small businesses!
Let’s bring a positive change to our community! #YesCityIslandFerry

Thank you everyone!
Daphne’s experience is the same as hundreds of City Islanders. We should do everything we can to make their lives easier.

Right on, Juanita! A ferry stop on City Island has the opportunity to bring new people from our beautiful borough and beyond!

We agree with Donald!
A ferry stop on City Island is enormously popular among middle aged and younger residents. These are folks who have to travel for work, pay taxes and want to take advantage of all that our City had to offer.
It’s time for the next generation to be heard. If we don’t listen, we’ll continue to lose them. #yescityislandferry⛴️

Jacqueline is right, City Islanders deserve the same fast transit options other communities have. You shouldn’t need to own a car to be able to access a ferry stop, let’s continue our push for fair transit options for our community.

Tom’s right, the fact that the “Seaport of the Bronx” doesn’t have a ferry goes against the very nautical character so many value about our community.
City Island deserves so much better- quicker commutes, more foot traffic, effective transportation,
& an improving quality of life.
