Congratulations to my friend @LulaOficial on his electoral victory.
Democracy and multilateralism have won in Brazil.
Europe’s partnership with Brazil is thriving.
We will remain by your side for the years to come.
Together we will keep working closely for free and open trade.
A rules-based global order.
And strong ambitions for our climate.

It is a “risk” because the media always play up the noise and protests. During the 2022 royal tour of Jamaica, the media obsessed endlessly over literally about 20 protestors at the High Commission, while ignoring wholesale the enthusiastic welcome by thousands in Trench Town

Andy Burnham will require loyalty from ministers if he pushes ahead with plans for a return to free movement and rejoining EU amid cabinet splits
The prime minister is expected to include his Brexit plan in Labour's manifesto, meaning ministers will have to back the plans even if they have concerns
One senior government source said the issue was likely to be the subject of a motion at the next Labour conference, which meant the party was more likely to support rejoining the EU
Ministers will also be bound by collective responsibility once the options for closer alignment with the EU have been announced on November 20, meaning that they cannot publicly express a view

This is a supertrawler. One of 26 that operate in British waters.
Together with the EU they scrape over 500,000 TONNES of fish from our sea a year. Leaving our fishermen on their knees and supermarkets importing the fish we eat from … China.
Brexit allowed us to fix this devastating mess but we didn’t. Both Labour and Tories say they have no definition of a supertrawler, so they can ban them.
How’s that sustainability goal working out?

If he wants to make non EU immigration less permanent and so 'more beneficial' he can do so by changing ILR. xitter.cf/christopherhope/status…
Andy Burnham first discussed his theory that EU immigration might be less permanent than post-Brexit immigration (and so perhaps better for the UK) in his interview with me on @GBNEWS last month.
CH: You said immigration controls weaken Brexit, but Brexit gives you the power to control legal migration. Boris Johnson ignored that. The Boris wave happened. He was punished at the polls. Brexit gives you the power you want to be a sovereign nation.
PM: One thing that I want to convey here is Brexit has changed the nature of immigration to this country, because in the past, when we were in the European Union, people can have their view about it, about whether it was good or bad. But what we had was a more revolving door form of migration, where people would come here in their younger years. Many people did from Eastern Europe. People would remember, and they'd maybe spend you know a few years here in their mid to late 20s, and then go home and start a family, and that was a very common form of immigration. Now, immigration is more likely to be a permanent settlement, where people are coming on a visa to work here. And then we saw obviously the Boris wave and the changes that came through in that in that period. So it's changed the nature of immigration.
