I’m glad the NBA is celebrating the ABA’s. But it’s BS to recognize our league while many former ABA players struggle and their stats remain excluded from NBA records!
Honor the players. Honor the history. Honor the numbers. Honor the Legacy!
NBA, do the right thing!!

In 2024, Major League Baseball incorporated the statistics of the Negro Leagues.
In 2025, the NFL incorporated the statistics of the All-America Football Conference.
In 2026, on the 50th anniversary of NBA-ABA merger, will the NBA incorporate the statistics of the ABA?
The NBA is selling ABA gear but ABA stats don’t count in NBA records, and no share of merchandise $$ has been publicly committed to former ABA players.
Honor the legacy, not just the logos

Here’s another one: BS!
Not one dime of ABA apparel sales are going to Indy based companies @lana_sports or @droppingdimes67
And DDF helps former ABA guys in need who are struggling with health or financial challenges! 😠

Not one sale from this Team Store is going to the former ABA players or the Dropping Dimes Foundation!
Let’s change that!

It should be Louisville!

Seattle is no longer considered a lock for an NBA expansion team, Adam Silver has informed team owners, per @WindhorstESPN.
The league is reportedly using Mexico City as a potential alternative to pressure Seattle’s bidding group into raising its offer.

It should be Seattle and LOUISVILLE. Vegas is a mistake.

Louie Dampier played all nine ABA seasons for the Kentucky Colonels and is the only player who made the playoffs in all nine. His 728 ABA games are the most anyone played in that league.
Issel says Hall of Fame treats him like royalty. Artis goes to Hall of Fame, but Louie stays home!

.@nba2lou 10 years later and he's still waiting. Will he see it in his lifetime? I sure hope so. 🏀 – at Hurstbourne, KY
This right here!
@DanIssel44 (Mr. Dan Issel) was a standout at every level: Batavia HS (Illinois), U. of Kentucky, Kentucky & Denver (pro). He outshines most players in both the ABA and NBA (post-merger) and is a classic example of why player totals should include each league.

MLB includes Negro League stats.
The NFL includes AFL stats.
But the NBA doesn’t recognize ABA stats.
Make it make sense! 🤨😬

Received a review copy of a new book by Dan Issel with Doug Brunk. Should be an exciting read! Will do a review in my Christmas column on new sports books in late November or early December. #GoBigBlue #BBN #WeAreUK @KentuckyMBB @DanIssel44 @dougbrunk @KentuckyPress
Las Vegas didn't sell a single seat in the Upper Deck!
Louisville needs to host preseason games!
@TilmanJFertitta @MagicJohnson @RobertIger @thrivecapital Instead of Las Vegas, you all need to buy a team in a city that loves basketball.
