Nearly 100 @CONG1860 members are supporting search-and-rescue efforts in flood-affected Southwest Colorado. Following my Oct. 22 declaration of a state of emergency, aviation and ground teams are assisting local responders in Archuleta County with helicopters, personnel, and vehicles. Cybersecurity is a rapidly growing field, and every industry needs trained professionals to protect people and information. At Ralston Valley High School, I’m taking action to create more pathways from the classroom to a cybersecurity career, including new opportunities for students who pass the AP Cybersecurity course to serve in the @CONG1860 This is about opportunities for Colorado students, strengthening our National Guard, and building the skilled workforce we need to keep Colorado secure.

Today, we celebrate Frances Xavier Cabrini Day and the remarkable life of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini.​ Colorado is home to the beautiful Mother Cabrini Shrine in Golden, where visitors can walk the same foothills Mother Cabrini once walked and reflect on her legacy of service, compassion, and faith. ​ Mother Cabrini believed education could open doors and give children a stronger future.​ During her time in Colorado, she and the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus established schools and educational programs serving children of immigrant families, such as the Mount Carmel School in Denver and the Queen of Heaven Orphanage School in Denver. Her legacy of education and service continues to shape Colorado today. Happy Cabrini Day, Colorado.
