The Framers of our Constitution knew our country might one day slide into its current predicament, where our federal government no longer restrains itself, our leaders no longer respect the Constitution, and elections alone are not enough to solve the problem.
And that’s why they ingeniously gave us Article V of our Constitution.
Article V allows the states to sidestep Congress and propose government-limiting, constitutional amendments that do things like:
++ Require a balanced federal budget;
++ Impose term limits on Congress and federal officials;
++ Restrict the power of unelected bureaucrats;
++ …and many more liberty-protecting measures.
This is a process entirely controlled by We the People through our state governments.
And we are closer than ever to calling the convention.
Just a few months ago, thanks to the unparalleled grassroots efforts of COS Action, Kansas became the 20th state to pass a Resolution calling for an Article V convention.
That means that only 14 more states are required to reach the constitutional threshold that will trigger a convention. But with time running out to reach that benchmark, we MUST continue pushing forward.
