LOST showrunner Carlton Cuse points out a paradox of the streaming era: we now spend years producing just 8 episodes, but the long gaps between seasons make audiences lose interest and their connection to shows.
LOST had something today’s TV landscape has largely lost: continuity. A new episode every week, full-length seasons and shorter breaks between seasons. This kept theories, conversations and audience excitement alive.
Maybe that continuity was one of the keys to making it a cultural phenomenon. Production quality isn’t everything. Keeping a story alive matters too.

the idea of physical junk mail is fascinating
nobody wants it. it gets a near 100% negative reaction.
there are no people on the pro junk mail side saying "please send me more crap."
the entire experience is: print a million pieces of junk -> pay the post office to deliver them to people who don't want it -> the person on the receiving end is responsible for throwing it away...
it's a glorified garbage conveyer belt
the response rate is like 2-4% at best... which means 96 to 98% of us regular people are subjected to a daily onslaught of total garbage so that one person in about 200,000 can find a deal on someone to power wash their driveway.
