On January 17 in Texas, 21-year-old Jaelen Green was driving with his girlfriend, Nicole Doggett, when another vehicle suddenly veered into their lane. He had only seconds to react as the crash became unavoidable. Without hesitation, Jaelen moved to shield Nicole, putting his own body between her and the impact. He absorbed the full force of the collision in an instinctive act of protection. Jaelen did not survive, but Nicole did. She woke up in the hospital alive because he kept the promise he always made to her, that he would protect her no matter what. The most haunting photos ever taken: bit.ly/46yA996

🎙️ In Gaza, we do not weep because of drowning, hunger, or bombardment we weep because of betrayal.

Good news! 🎉 While we’ve yet to see finance & numbers, this is a major win for common sense & for all who’ll now be able to access vocational training, work placements & higher education. Congrats to all who campaigned for it! #Erasmus ⁦@euromove⁩ theguardian.com/world/2025/d…

A @CNN investigation has uncovered horrific details about atrocities in Sudan, exposing ethnically targeted killings at the hands of the Sudanese Armed Forces and its allies. Worth reading in full: edition.cnn.com/interactive/…

For clarity the urgent review ordered by the Prime Minister is into foreign “financial interference” in UK politics. That is of course good news but but a full public inquiry into Russian interference in UK politics and democracy is still needed
🚨A Petition calling for a full, public inquiry into RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE IN UK POLITICS AND DEMOCRACY has hit the threshold for a debate, but a debate isn’t automatic. MPs need to show support. Email your MP NOW and ask them to publicly support the call for a Commons debate

If you think it’s OK to have a trillionaire in the same America where parents skip meals so kids don’t have to and folks have to choose between healthcare or rent—then we do not share the same values. An economic system with such obscene greed has lost its moral compass.

It should be a massive scandal that we have agreed to make the NHS pay £3bn a year more to the US for NOTHING. When £0.8bn a year for doctors is supposedly completely unaffordable.
Trump enjoyed a state visit and convinced Starmer to pay 25% more for NHS drugs. Then, ➡️ Trump sues the BBC ➡️ Trump attacks the Mayor of London ➡️ Trump suspends the £31 billion UK-US tech deal When will Labour and Keir Starmer realise that the US under Trump weakens our security, our integrity and our opportunities And that the sooner the UK is back in the EU the better for our security, our integrity and our opportunities When will Starmer stand up to Trump?

Wow, this ancient Egyptian linen shirt is the world’s oldest known complex woven garment. Known as the Tarkhan Dress, it was cut and tailored to fit some 5,000 years ago! 📷 Petrie Museum: antiquity.ac.uk/projgall/ste… #Archaeology

I have visited Amy Gardiner-Gibson today, one of the Palestine Action hunger strikers. I am worried about her health & urge yet again for David Lammy to meet her representatives or family. There is a potential tragedy emerging now that has to be addressed. theguardian.com/uk-news/2025…

I will just point out the Doctors have asked for a maximum of £800m, that's for 71,000 doctors who run all the hospitals. That's 'too expensive'. But when the Water Companies asked for £5bn, they were given it. Broken Britain, money for thieves, no money for you.

We were promised 'cheaper food after Brexit'. It now costs £5 for a bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk, £8 for a jar of Nescafe and £12 for a bottle of olive oil.

To save the world - they are going to destroy the world by destroying the deep sea ocean which itself will damage a critical carbon sink and trigger a huge carbon release and destroy marine life (already in great peril) on an unprecedented scale
Before the machinery arrived, seabed was brimming with animal life, despite absence of light and a severe lack of nutrients After mining had shredded the seabed, the change was stark Animal numbers dropped by 37% within machine’s tracks, while species diversity fell by 32%
