Hey everyone. So unfortunately, like @SamHerderFCS, I also have some bad news to share. After covering the G6 for four years at HERO Sports, my position was cut by the company that owns HERO. I loved my job. Getting to highlight schools so often overlooked was really special for me. And I don't want to stop now, especially with the football season days away. So, like Sam, I'm also going to try independent content. I've started a Substack called The Pool Report, where I'll be covering Group of Six football and I plan to have everything there you could want: rankings, columns, podcasts, game previews, profiles and a lot more. If you're a fan of football in the Pac-12, American, Sun Belt, Mountain West, MAC and/or Conference USA, I'll work my ass off to give you content that's worthwhile. Thank you in advance for the support! Here's the link to my Substack: cpoolreporter.substack.com/

My thoughts on the Group of Six this past week over on The Pool Report Substack: ➡️Boise State is boring (compliment) ➡️UTSA has always been the best team in the American ➡️Do we have a new CFP contender? Read more here⬇️ cpoolreporter.substack.com/p…

New Mexico (6-1) earns a huge 21-16 win over North Dakota State (6-2). The Lobos are the lone undefeated team in Mountain West play and remain in College Football Playoff contention with a win like this.

UTSA (7-1) keeps proving it is the best team in the American right now. The Roadrunners beat Tulane 42-19 and have now won 5 straight. Will Henderson III ran for 102 yards and 1 TD. Owen Pewee tallied 3 sacks as UTSA’s defense forced 6 turnovers.

Boise State, the best team in the G6 right now, is 6-1 after pulling away and beating Washington State 31-10. Dylan Riley ran for 128 yards and 2 TDs. The Broncos outgained Wazzu 407-244.

Toledo (6-2) picked up a massive win over Western Michigan today, beating the Broncos 45-38. John Alan Richter threw for 391 yards and 3 TDs with 1 INT while rushing for a TD. CJ Miller ran for 183 yards and a TD. WMU is now 5-3 and 3-1 in MAC play.

Ohio (6-2) is bowl-eligible and is the only undefeated team in MAC play at 4-0 after beating Eastern Michigan. The Bobcats have now won 5 straight games.

North Texas (5-2) has won four straight after beating Navy 49-39 today. ➡️ Tayven Jackson threw for 305 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT ➡️ Jahiem White ran for 174 yards and 2 TDs ➡️ Justin Stevenson caught 8 passes for 209 yards and 2 TDs Another great day for the Mean Green

FAU (5-2) bounces back from the Army loss with a 51-49 win over Rice. Easton Messer totaled 262 all-purpose yards and scored five touchdowns while Caden Veltkamp threw for 339 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT.

So easy 👀

Ya love to see it

JMU is undefeated no longer. The Dukes (7-1) suffer their first loss of the season as App State (5-2) wins 34-31 in overtime. The Mountaineers just keep finding ways to spoil things for JMU since it made the FBS jump.

Some interesting Pac-12 action to break down 🔥
