Want to dive deeper? Here is the rotation speeds for all 44 Source photos.
Fun fact. A Sculpture’s rotation speed is determined by the edge density of its source photograph, measured through luminance changes between neighboring pixels. Getty Center 10 produces the fastest rotation, while Getty Center 34 produces the slowest. ~27% speed difference.

Getty Center 10 has the highest edge density of the 44 sources. Getty Center 34 has the lowest. That translates to a full rotation every ~19 seconds vs. ~24 seconds. Below you can see the difference in Vessel 155 vs Vessel 195. Both are "Arch" shapes, but the Source differs.

Turns out size & tilt do matter. In Ordinary Vessels, a halo’s starting size is influenced by the edge density of its source photograph, while its tilt is determined by its Composition Guide. Check out Vessel 827 & 815: Small Halo & minimum tilt Large Halo & maximum tilt

All you need is a glance to know the source inscription’s content and data.
When you first see a Vessel, you’ll know if it’s Calm or Tense from its halo. Calm = smooth, flowing halo. Tense = sharper, more angular halo. The mood reflects the combined visual intensity of the source photograph and the on-chain pressure surrounding its inscription. Higher edge density, contrast, and off-center visual weight push toward Tense. Higher block transaction count, inscription fee, and block weight do the same. So one look at a Vessel, and you’ll know if the source photograph was visually intense with higher pressure from Bitcoin to put on chain.

Did you know Rarity in Ordinary Vessels isn’t random? I inscribed 44 source photos over a month, each with a real cost based on Bitcoin conditions. Fee pressure connects that cost to a Vessel’s material: higher pressure pushes toward rarer materials, lower toward ordinary.

What's your favorite?
Did you know Bitcoin tells the Vessel what expression it should have? Each Ordinary Vessel’s PFP expression is deterministically selected by hashing its Bitcoin-authenticated seed, inscription ID, and variant index into one of four mouth types: Smile, Flat, Frown, or Surprised

One Vessel. Three different interpretations. The location is part of the art viewing experience. This has been the case in traditional museums/galleries... why not online? Here, Vessel 354 is resolved differently due to the AVIF inscription sources that allow color, contrast, tone, & palette to shift across Brave, Firefox, and Safari. Pick one and try it for yourself. Applies to Sculptures as well: ordinals.com/children/e2284a…

You've collected a Vessel. You've paired a Sculpture + PFP. But have you found the hidden sets? One of them lies within Materials. Every Material has three possible finishes, creating smaller sets hidden throughout the collection. Happy hunting! ord.net/collection/ordinary-…

GM! For anyone wanting an Ordinary Vessels pair without the work of searching through the treasury wallet, I went through and listed a few pairs as "Lots" on @ord_net. All Rarity tier levels will be available at the same price at OTC Treasury purchases. ord.net/collection/ordinary-…

Beyond the published pairs, there are other sets in this collection that I'm going to map out and secure. @crftd collections are intriguing if you're literate and willing to read. Ordinary Vessels

Get it crisp!
As a photographer, I knew you needed high-res images of your Vessel. It's built in. Here's how to download a PNG of your Sculpture or PFP from the source. Open the Vessel’s inscription page on Ordinals.com, click “Link” to view the artwork, press "D" on desktop or tap the bottom-right of the artwork on mobile, then click "Download PNG" in the lower-right corner.

Photograph everything "except the art." @_CRFTD_ Ordinal Vessels is far from ordinary. The age old question started this collection...what is art? "Together, the photograph and Bitcoin data determine how each vessel resolves:" Collectors hunting sets. AOB Long Live Ordinals

Photography + Bitcoin makes a pretty good lighting team.
Did you know photo + Bitcoin also data determine a Vessel’s Composition Guide + how the lights move? PFPs stay fixed as key, fill, back, rim, & glint lights travel a guided path. Sculptures rotate through static lighting + moving lights adapted to their size, depth, & framing.
