“He brings an explosiveness, as you see with the ball in his hands. He’s able to make some of the flashy plays but also make the routine plays too.”

Oklahoma State will start Shaun Torgeson at left tackle against Oregon today, per a source. He's a Portland State transfer who started 12 games there last year. He's expected to rotate today with Desmond Magiya, a North Texas transfer. They will play in place of starter Jacob Sexton, who was lost for the season on the first series against Tulsa.

Freshman PJ Dean had 1.5 sacks yesterday against TSU.
It was a strong debut, but the cool part is that he told KJ Bolden before the game that he was going to make an impact like that.
Dean also had 1.0 manifestations yesterday.

It takes a Village to raise a King!
I've met Shaun Torgeson just once, briefly talked, but that's what strikes me when I think about his situation. And what I mean by that is, it's pretty obvious he has had a LOT of people support him along his journey. Folks who obviously continued to believe in him, continued to support his journey, and wanted to see just how far he could take this thing, or how good he could get.
And that, 100%, is what THIS is ALL about!
Congrats to this young man for coming to OSU and literally knocking down the door to be a likely starter in Game 1. And that didn't happen by accident.
Torgeson, as Coach Morris said, is probably THE strongest player on the team pound for pound, so he's done ALL the things he's needed to do OFF the field. And that's given him an opportunity that defies the odds: to jump from FCS to P4 as an offensive lineman and put himself in position to start from Day 1.
Wow! Congrats to ALL of those who have had a hand in this situation, job well done. But, as Shaun said, the job isn't done. LFG!
