ALT Here in Northern Ireland, the cyber security sector is a wonderful example of innovation, which is rapidly growing into an economic powerhouse… and we now have a burgeoning community of cyber security professionals and enterprises. It was a great pleasure for me, recently, to visit the Centre for Secure Information Technologies at Queen’s University, in the Titanic Quarter. It is now rightly renowned as a global leader in cyber security research and innovation.

ALT The cyber security industry here started with a research project spinning out from Queen’s. The expertise that’s here attracted others and so a cluster developed around it. That attracted inward investment, and we are now looking at how we apply our cyber security and data analytics expertise to other areas, such as health or the agrifood industry which are very important here in Northern Ireland.
