You may have heard about our PlayCOS program or our Balltoberfest event, but we wanted to take a moment to explain what it’s all about. So, what is PlayCOS? PlayCOS is a community outreach initiative by the Colorado Springs Police Department designed to build positive relationships between officers and local youth through sports and recreation. And it’s making a difference. As of the end of 2025, CSPD has donated more than 10,000 sports balls and created more than 100,000 positive interactions with youth in our community — and those numbers continue to grow. But we couldn’t do it without you. Every year, we host Balltoberfest, a free, family-friendly event at Scheels in Colorado Springs where we bring the community together. We want to connect you with community partners, let you check out various CSPD units, and help us collect sports ball donations to help keep PlayCOS going. This year’s Balltoberfest is October 10, 2026, from 10 AM–1 PM at Scheels, Colorado Springs. Bring the family. Come say hello. And if you’re able, bring a new sports ball to donate!
