A 'community safety event' is being held tomorrow night at a housing facility in Centretown. It's deeply disturbing and confusing that the ANCHOR program, touted as a police alternative, is now co-hosting safety sessions with the OPS and Crime Stoppers. /1

please don’t stop making art. i’m so serious when i say that in a society that’s so vehemently anti-art as it seems to be today, even drawing your self-insert OC fucking the literal onceler is a great act of rebellion and indomitable human spirit.

Mfs will hear "all art is political" and think it means "all art has to do with something about the government and stuff"

The 2SLGBTQIA+ effort in keeping Pride political versus the cishet desire for Pride to be about "vibes only" is always interesting to observe. #ottpoli

We have received information about a new Instagram account that repeatedly posts violating pictures of unhoused residents only to further marginalize them. People in these photos are often unconscious/clearly not in a state to consent. 1/6 🧵

Very proud of all the queers who shut down Toronto’s corporate pride parade today in solidarity with Palestine. The ED refused to meet with them to discuss ending Pride’s complicity in the genocide in Gaza, opting to cancel the rest of the parade instead. #NoPrideInGenocide

July is Disability Pride Month & today is so-called Canada Day. If you believe in Disability Justice on these territories, you mourn the genocides at home and all over from Turtle Island to Palestine. We come together with land defenders and imagine decolonial futures.

I address this often in my remarks, and I always offer some words by Mariame Kaba. 1. Let this radicalize you rather than lead you to despair. It's ok to feel overwhelmed. Don't stay there. 2. You can do something other than turn away. No matter how small, do that thing.

My question to therapists and sociologists is genuine. How do we as a society process ourselves out of this? How do we make sure we remain horrified and human AND able to move with purpose to change it? 15
