Dee Peden of Palm Desert, Calif. in Riverside County planted a variety of drought-tolerant plants and built a dry streambed at her home in the Coachella Valley. The rocks help direct rainwater toward the plants surrounding the bed. And, the gentle curve produces a more natural appearence - while reducing the velocity of the water runoff.
