Nasdaq-100 down over 9% from its October high. @tastylive study found 100 similar selloffs since 1986. The first bounce may not be the bottom. (1/4)
SOXX has now dropped -9.27% midday.
This is already the second worst drawdown on the final trading day of any week in the history of the ETF.
The only one worse was the day after AI peaked in early June of this year.
SOXX, the semiconductor ETF, was down -7.03% already this morning; the second time in 7 trading days this has happened.
Here's a list of every time SOXX had at least 2 such draw downs within a 7 trading day period:
- Sep '01
- Oct '02
- Q4 '08
- COVID
- Liberation Day
- The month after AI peaked this June
- Right. Fucking. Now.

Chris Vechhio, show host of @tastyliveshow brought me in earlier this week for a chat on my views around this "AI narrative bingo" amidst a growth scare & rising chance for currency volatility coming soon!
Sincere thanks for having me @CVecchioFX 🙏

S&P 500 was 0/6 in terms of gains on FOMC meeting days in 2026.
After the sharp reversal after-hours, might go 0/7 (Nasdaq now down -0.27% after up >1% just 45-mins ago)

SOURCES SAY MEDIATORS AND IRAN ARE DISCUSSING HOLDING A TURKEY MEETING BEFORE NOVEMBER 4, WITH THE TIMELINE FOR THE NEW PROPOSAL INCLUDING OPENING THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ AND LIFTING THE SIEGE - AL ARABIYA
Somewhat remarkably, Musk has spent more money on politics in less than two years than George Soros has over the past decade, per @WSJ
Price action this week increasingly validating that last week was a flush out low for the Nasdaq, if history is any sort of guide
The Nasdaq just suffered a sharp selloff. History suggests what happens next depends on one big question. 📉
@CVecchioFX analyzed nearly 40 years of market data following rapid Nasdaq declines of 6% or more.
His findings raise one big question: Is this another buying opportunity or the start of something bigger?

Where do you go next after reporting from the Strait of Hormuz? For the past three months, Citrini Research, an independent research firm, has been working with our team and an internal research model to see if they could use AI to create a new drug. What follows is an entertaining, candid, and humbling account of a group of motivated nonexperts (or “filthy casuals”, as Citrini would say) trying to tackle a real problem in human health with Claude.
We landed on scorpion neurotoxins, which kill over 3,000 people a year. Of the 211 designs we produced and tested, 17 met our criteria for a binder. None of the designs bound more than one toxin and none have been tested for neutralizing a toxin.
One of my favorite quotes from the piece is: “Our virtual biologist may have compressed a year's worth of work into a couple days, but biology works at the speed of life…Over two days, we watched Claude work through problems at a speed that was difficult to comprehend. For the next two months, we spent much of the time becoming familiar with laboratory turnaround times (This mostly involved sending memes in Slack).”
What is AI really capable of in bio?
To separate hype from reality, we spent 3 months working firsthand with @AnthropicAI's internal research model to see if it could create an experimental scorpion antivenom.

Happy Banner Day to all those observing
Hello everyone! This is Sandra Brunson, @jalenbrunson1’s mom. Usually, I send my son a text message before every game.
But tonight he gets his championship ring!
So I wrote him this letter. theplayerstribune.com/sandra…

Check out what @qmbigbeat had to say on @tastyliveshow w/@CVecchioFX about some of the reasons he bought the dip.
He took profits before the tech selloff. Now he’s buying back in. 📈
@qmbigbeat, Founder and CEO of KR Markets, joins @CVecchioFX on tastylive to explain why he reduced leverage ahead of last week’s market decline and what convinced him it was time to reenter.
From spotting signs of capitulation to monitoring the VIX and trading volume, Orr explains why he believes this is a stock picker’s market, not a time to buy everything.
